James started road cycling around 15 years ago after deciding that rugby was no longer the sport for him. Initially it was a mode of transport to and from work and an enjoyable way to keep fit. His competitive streak soon got the better of him and he started racing.

As the realization that the window of opportunity to cycle competitively was becoming shorter with age, he began to race a lot more frequently toward the end of the 2016 season. Having gained his 3rd Cat license in 2017 James is keen to improve upon this as well as his Time Trialing.
