I started cycling in the 1990’s and dabbled at each discipline before finding I was better at Track Racing than any of the others so invested in this and while working a 3 shift pattern travelled to Manchester Velodrome (220 mile round trip) on a Friday to race with the best result being in 1997 finishing 3rd overall in the MRTL Fist Division Track League from the top group.

Whilst in France I watched the Tour de France go past and that started me racing again. In 2017 I raced outdoors at Scunthorpe finishing 1st in the B’s track league overall. I am now based in Manchester so train and race at the track 2 or 3 times a week and in addition I am a trainee commissaire.
